Yesterday, I volunteered with Indiana Landmarks to assist the Downtown Safari tour. While waiting for the tour to start, at the north steps of the Indiana World War Memorial, I had time to snap a few photos to share.

Indiana World War Memorial
If you’ve never been inside the memorial, I highly recommend checking it out. There’s a lot to see inside, including Pershing Theatre, the names of all Hoosiers who served in World War I, and much more.

Veterans Memorial Plaza
Looking north across Michigan Street is Veterans Memorial Plaza. That’s it’s real name, but Google Maps calls it Obelisk Square, for some reason. There’s probably some history to that name, but I have yet to research it. With that being said, I’m going with the name used by Indiana War Memorials, and that’s Veterans Memorial Plaza.

Scottish Rite Cathedral
The Scottish Rite Cathedral isn’t a church, but instead is affiliated with Freemasonry. It’s one of the largest masonic buildings in the world, and it’s gorgeous on the inside.
